Jazz Band B classes are designed to introduce and develop jazz performance through the rehearsal and performance of quality jazz literature.  Jazz theory is studied as a basis for improvisation.  Jazz performance techniques are developed through listening and imitation.  Musical, historical and theoretical concepts are discussed and applied appropriately to every piece of music.  Jazz labs meet daily after school from 2:15pm to 3:00pm.  Each student will receive 1 credit.

Jazz Lab members will:

A.) Perform literature with correct jazz articulations and style

B.) Improvise over a given chord progression

C.) Participate in all concert performances
