Concert Band II class is designed to train the instrumental musician in proper rehearsal and performance techniques and to nurture their potential through the rehearsal and performance of quality wind band literature appropriate to the level of their development. It is also designed to prepare the musician for performance at a more advanced level. Musical, historical and theoretical concepts are discussed and applied appropriately to every piece of music. Marching band techniques is strongly encouraged as a requirement for this course.

Concert Band II members will:

A.) Attain a minimum of level 1-2 in each of the VMEA Instrumental Standards of Performance

B.) Attain performance level 1-2 of the FCPS Musical Skills List

C.) Participate in all marching band activities and demonstrate mastery of marching band techniques and skills (if required)

D.) Participate in all concert band performances
